Department of Information Technologies (BIDB); It carries out its activities in accordance with the administrative legislation in line with the objectives and principles determined by our university. Our Directorate follows the developments and tries to serve academicians, students and staff with the latest information technologies. It provides infrastructure and communication support for the necessary access at national and international level during academic studies. In this context, it constantly follows new technologies and the systems are tested in the real environment before they are purchased and no rote or random infrastructure is installed.
With the necessary infrastructure updates, the number of instant users has reached 2500 only for wireless devices. With all devices, it has exceeded 13000 users and our main output speed has increased to 5,000 Mbps. There is a great effort of our staff specialized in network management in high number and capacity. Our completed Data Center Hall gives information about our experience to those who see it. This hall, which emerged at the Tier 3 level, has become one of the certain numbers in the region and in our country.
One of us has gained experience in the use of open source products for years and has contributed to the national economy by performing installations even on important servers. Most of the installations and infrastructures have emerged with our productivity.
Our vision is to ensure that the university has a modular information system by providing communication support for the necessary access at national and international level during academic studies, taking into account the characteristics of the region where the universities are located, taking into account the idea that public and private organizations should be guided at the scientific level. Maximum effort is made to provide an uninterrupted and high quality communication service. In this context, our network connection lines are generally redundant with fiber optic cables.
As the main policy of the Department of Information Technologies information security; To identify the risks of our information assets and to ensure that appropriate measures are taken, to comply with national / international laws, legislation, regulatory board / authority decisions, instructions and procedures affecting information security, to protect the confidentiality, integrity, accessibility rights of corporate information assets, to comply with the requirements of Information Security Management Systems and to ensure continuous improvement of their effectiveness.
Our university has switched to the Student Affairs Management System and follows all kinds of control, audit and planning works in order to intervene in the problems that may arise in the system, to follow the necessary procedures in end-user trainings and to prepare the environment where the training will be given, to intervene in the problems that may arise in the servers and to ensure that the system runs smoothly and to maintain its continuity.
In order to provide better quality and faster services, our existing group structure has been branched into software group, hardware group, network group and web group. Our services are provided by a total of 24 personnel including 4 Engineers, 1 Manager, 1 Chief, 4 Technicians, 3 Computer Operators, 1 Programmers, 2 Officer 6 Contracted Workers and 1 Janitor under the leadership of the Head of Department.
